Holiday Tree Blogging Begins ...

We got the tree last Friday night, just before another round of snow came through, a nearly weekly occurrence of late (if it's the weekend, a storm must be on tap!). In fact, this Scotch Pine we got from our usual tree purveyors from Wisconsin came complete with free snow on it! Amazingly, it went into the stand quickly and without issue and was ready on Saturday when we began to work on it ... Pepa and Rolly are less fascinated by the tree than they are something Fernymoss was doing in the dining room ... The tree, au naturel, before the lights went on.
Now most of the lights are on ... all 750 of them ... shimmering white, multicolour and faceted colours ... just waiting for the bead garland and ornaments. And one final shot for now, with a good number of the ornaments on the tree, with even more to come (details to come in later posts). Fernymoss has been adding more all during the past week, so it's pretty packed at this point! I just need to get down to some serious wrapping this weekend! Thank the almighty FSM for online shopping ... I've got maybe one or two more quick shopping trips to make before I'm officially done. And then the baking and candy making frenzy begins in earnest ...

nice tree ivg.

l haven't had one in decadences...usually get a wreath for over the mailbox, and a garland or 2 for inside. l do enjoy the scent.

looks like rolly's got a new pair of boots...har!

thinking about getting some for BU, as the snow packs in between her foot pads and is quite uncomfortable for her. not sure l could keep them on her tho...

merry christmas to you and ferny!

peace

Yo Dada-O-Sage,
Yep those are new boots indeed ("paw tectors") we got for him because he has such a hard time slipping on the hardwood and linoleum in the house. They work equally well outdoors too, and he doesn't mind them at all b/c they help him get around better.

Check back for more detail of the tree soon ... we've got the usual fun stuff and then some.

How did you like the icy pictures? Or had enough of that for yourself lately? We sure have ....

Merry Christmas IVG and Ferny!

The tree looks great. Seeing that I haven't put up anything yet, dada's wreath and garlands would absolutely make this place look festive. :)

My holiday decorating s-i-l is supposed to be in today, so maybe by tomorrow we'll have something up.

Hope everything is going well and don't freeze too much out there.

Seven Hundred. And Fifty. Lights?

I've always joked that Mrs. Fetched knows she's done decorating the tree when you can't see the tree anymore.

Hey IVG and fernymoss!

Great to see you back and a Christmas post too. Loved seeing your ornaments last year that you posted.

Hope you're all staying warm!

FM, you better get with the program here soon! We thought we were behind the curve this year (we still have to get Halloween put away completely!) but I guess slackerology won over at your place. For me, there are just those certain things that have to be out every year or it's not the same. Things like snoozing Coco Santa dog, the Santa in a rickshaw, the Jack Russell Terrier and my flocked lab carrying a tree ... those are some of my most cherished ornaments. Well, that and the "Flying Snoopy Goat" which you may have seen from last year ....

FAR, that's pretty much Fernymoss' decorating scheme as well, but as long as it glitters and glows, I'm happy! And yep, 750 lights... we've been cutting back the last couple of years ... at one point we had close to a 1000 on the tree a few years ago! lol

Thanks toots! I'm going to try to keep up even with the insane work schedule through January ... wish me luck! And wish us a speedy resolution of the lack of furnace this week!
