I think you'll find Volver incredibly rich in culture as well as entertaining, and since you know Pedro, you already know what a treat to expect! Get back to me once you've seen it and let me know ... I think I need one a week for a while, only dilemma is which one? LOL... seriously, if you really like his stuff, consider that set I talked about, it's great stuff!Iowa Victory Gardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07220818462081082930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29575688.post-72491608216583597662007-07-24T12:22:00.000-05:002007-07-24T12:22:00.000-05:00What a timely review! ;)Thanks for that rundown, ...What a timely review! ;)

Thanks for that rundown, IVG. Despite my recent novitiate regarding French films, I am a proud follower of Almodóvar. Haven't had a chance to see Volver yet, will do that soon and let you know what I think. pazAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16837068933376597307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29575688.post-49974397644685939992007-07-22T22:04:00.000-05:002007-07-22T22:04:00.000-05:00LOL FM, it can't be that bad down there! This was...LOL FM, it can't be that bad down there! This was a pretty widely released film this year and I'd be willing to bet a Blockbuster would have at least one copy kicking around. Now, whether folks down your way would actually rent it... that might be another matter! Oh and yeah, there is this thing called Netflix you know ... they'll send the movies right to your door, so you barely have to leave the couch. Prime slackerly rental mode, eh?

Olivia, I'll get you to see this film yet! I think you'd really enjoy it and maybe even become an Almodóvar fan! Seriously though, this, and Women On the Verge are great introductions to his work if you're totally uninitiated and want to sink yourself into some total entertainment!Iowa Victory Gardenerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07220818462081082930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29575688.post-26704612839765699972007-07-22T11:07:00.000-05:002007-07-22T11:07:00.000-05:00Your passion certainly comes through in your writi...Your passion certainly comes through in your writing IVG, and agree w/ FM that it's a great review ... just enough detail to tempt the reader to go see the movie. Even at the local video store I would be more than likely to find Smokey and the Bandit films. :)Family Manhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17101125448247590979noreply@blogger.com
